The main difference is that AGVs follow fixed routes, often running on tracks, while AMRs make their own navigation decisions in real time and require little or no floor infrastructure changes.
Mobile robots are used wherever materials, products or tools need to be moved efficiently from one location to another. They are especially common in warehouses, factories, and logistics operations.

The main differences between the MiR250, MiR600 and MiR1350 are payload capacity, physical size and the type of material-handling tasks they’re designed for.
Choose a MiR250 if:
- You’re moving parts, totes, bins, or small carts.
- Loads are under 250 kg.
- Space is limited.
Choose a MiR600 if:
- Loads are between 250 kg and 600 kg.
- You’re moving heavy containers or work-in-progress.
- You need more lifting capacity without going to a pallet-specific solution.
Choose a MiR1350 if:
- You’re transporting full pallets.
- Loads exceed 600 kg (up to 1,350 kg).
Mobile Cobots
A Mobile Cobot is a UR cobot arm mounted on top of a MiR autonomous mobile robot, with a choice of module heights and end-of-arm tooling.
A mobile manipulator robot is another term for a mobile cobot, which combines an AMR base with a robot arm mounted on top.
A mobile cobot is different from a standard cobot because the cobot arm is mounted on an AMR base, allowing it to navigate autonomously.
A mobile cobot features a cobot arm mounted on top of the AMR base, allowing the robot to interact with other objects using the arm.
